CA – Medical device developer Gynesonics said that it raised $16.5
million in a series B round of new funding.
The company is developing a medical device that treats uterine fibroid tumors,
which affects millions of women each year. Gynesonics states that the
funding will allow them to complete development of the device and begin US FDA
trials later this year.
The financing round was led by Advanced Technology Ventures, with participation
from InterWest Partners and Abingworth Management.
