CAMBRIDGE, MA -- Two MIT graduates are readying an online tool next month allowing online video publishers to target the topic of a video as a way of matching the video with advertisements.
The technology monitors the video's spoken text, images and audio and correlates that information for better ad placement below the screen.
Their company, ScanScout, receives about fifty cents each time an ad is clicked. Its investors include noted angel investor Ron Conway and VC firm First Round Capital.
