SAN RAMON, CA -- Grape Networks announced the successful deployment of what it says is the largest wireless sensor network in an agricultural application, with over 200 sensors covering 50 acres.

In use for a vineyard, the network data includes the exact location of the sensor modules, temperature, humidity and light.  The modules are buried next to the grape vine.  Users can view the data on any Web-enabled cellular phone or PC, and can set threshold values to automatically receive alerts via email or over the Internet.
