East Palo Alto To Get Gunshot Detection System

Wednesday, August 01, 2007 5:00:00 AM PDT | VentureDeal Staff

SANTA CLARA, CA -- The city of East Palo Alto has signed an agreement to install a gunshot detection system from ShotSpotter, Inc.  The system remotely detects and pinpoints where and when gunshots are fired and allows law enforcement to quickly dispatch officers to the scene.

ShotSpotter's system can also capture evidence that can later be used for detailed forensic and intelligence analysis for arrest and prosecution.  As part of the project, the system will interoperate with cameras and surveillance systems, crime analysis tools and other dispatching technologies.
