Amazon Launches EC2 For Windows Server

Seattle, Washington  -- Amazon Web Services announced the public beta launch of its Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) running Microsoft Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server.

Concurrent with the launch, the company announced a number of new customers utilizing the service - Eli Lilly & Co., Autodesk and Render Rocket.

Peter De Santis, General Manager of Amazon EC2 said, “We’ve listened closely to our customers for the past two years and worked backward from their requirements, adding important new features such as those we are announcing today — Windows support and a Service Level Agreement.”
