SAN MATEO, CA -- Digital media company Akimbo Systems has raised $8 million in a fourth round of venture capital financing, according to a report in PE Hub.
Akimbo has developed a turnkey video on demand (VOD) Internet-based system for content owners to provide their customers or visitors with streaming video.
Investors in the round included previous investors AT&T, Blueprint Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Zone Ventures. The report did not disclosed how the company would use the funding proceeds.
