Funambol Receives Series B Venture Capital

Redwood City, California -- Mobile serving company Funambol said that it has secured its second venture capital funding, in the amount of $12.5 million.

Funambol has developed an open-source mobile application server that provides for the development, software provisioning and management of a variety of wireless services.

Nexit Ventures led the round, which included Castile Ventures, Walden International and H.I.G.  Ventures.  The company said it would use the funding for expanding its services in the push e-mail market.
