Santa Clara, California --  Wireless networking company SkyPilot Networks announced that it has reached the milestone of having shipped over 40,000 wireless units to more than 50 countries around the world.

The company says that its growth comes mainly from the fixed broadband wireless market, where telecommunications service providers deploy their last mile services to business and residential customers.

"“Most service providers realize that they can leverage license-free spectrum to provide broadband Internet services at competitive prices," said Paul Gordon, president and CEO of SkyPilot. "This provides an extremely attractive financial model: monthly recurring revenue with a low up-front deployment expense and minimal ongoing operating expenses, which allows the service provider to grow their networks rapidly and profitably."
