Pearl Therapeutics Opens $18 Million Series A

Redwood City, California -- Pharmaceutical company Pearl Therapeutics announced that it has raised $18 million in its first round of venture capital financing.

Pearl Therapeutics is developing a pipeline of treatments for chronic respiratory disorders.  The company has in-licensed technologies from Nektar Therapeutics (Nasdaq: NKTR).

Investors in the round included Clarus Ventures, New Leaf Venture Partners and 5AM Ventures.  The company said that the additional funding will allow it to broaden its development efforts on its existing products and delivery platform.
