Carlsbad, California  --  Data sensor technology companies Luxtera and Siemon have announced a partnership to collaborate on the integration of 40 Gb per second active optical cabling for high-performance data centers.

As part of the agreement, Siemon introduced its Moray Active Optical Cabling product family.

Luxtera will contribute its 40 Gb per second single mode fiber transceiver technology.  The technology decreases the number of components in the active optical cable infrastructure and supports any distance from 1 m to 4000 m for fiber interconnects.
