Apple And Samsung Continue Tablet Market Control

   Oyster Bay, New York  --  Apple and Samsung continue to control the branded tablet market in 2014, according to a report from ABI Research.

The report, Media Tablets, Ultra Books and eReaders Market Research, said that the Apple iPad "experienced a decline of 15% in shipments between 2013 in 2014 but gained 9% market volume QoQ."

Conversely, Samsung achieved a 7% unit growth, largely from its flagship Galaxy Tab S and Tab 4 products.

Apple, Samsung and Lenovo are now considered "the big three for branded tablets, controlling 72% of the market in 2014."

The report goes on to forecast that 2015 will see the release of the new Windows 10 operating system and a greater focus on growth in emerging markets.
