Limerick, Pennsylvania  --  Medical device maker Teleflex (NYSE: TFX) has announced the launch of what it calls a next-generation vascular positioning system.

Called the ARROW VPS G4, the system is used in conjunction with the company's disposable Stylet and enables the clinician to more precisely place a peripherally inserted central catheter or central venous catheter in the superior vena cava.

These devices are used to deliver drugs to critically ill patients and the technology is designed to reduce or avoid thrombosis, arterial puncture and vessel wall damage.
