It's a few days old, but Internet/mobile investor Fred Wilson has a good post up on "mobile gatekeepers":View post here
He basically says that they try to avoid investing in companies where there is a gatekeeper in between the company and the user, which has been the case in the past in the mobile market with the carriers.
He goes on to say that he has seen Apple and Android recently pull a number of applications related to his portfolio companies and others, which has harmed those companies.
Seems like he is equating Apple and Android with the cellular carriers.VentureDealFacebook.com/VentureDeal

There is an interesting post up at PE Hub about how the University of California Board of Regents has not received or publicly disclosed individual fund performance data for Sequoia Capital and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers funds:View article here
This is a contentious issue for venture capital and private equity firms. They simply don't want their performance figures made public, even in spite of a California law that requires it.
Kudos to PE Hub for tracking this down.VentureDeal
