Xcellerex Clears $31 Million Series C Financing

MARLBOROUGH, MA -- Biotech company Xcellerex, Inc. announced that it has raised $31 million in third round financing from venture capital investors.

Xcellerex provides a range of bioprocess development and manufacturing services.  The company's services range from microbial manufacturing to cell banking and testing.

VantagePoint Venture Partners led the financing round, which also included previous investor Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.  Proceeds will be used for further service development and capacity as well as sales and marketing expansion.
