ROCKVILLE, MD -- Software company CPC announced the availability of a video captioning system for iPod and iPhone users.

Called the MacCaption, the system instantly embeds closed captions into any QuickTime movei format.  It can either retrieve captions from previously captioned video, or create captions from start to finish.

Without the application, video must go through a multi-step compression and recompression process to be captioned.  MacCaption's advance is that it requires no time-consuming re-compression to add the captions.
