PITTSBURGH, PA -- Speech software company Carnegie Speech said that it has raised $6 million in new venture capital investment for its series A funding round.

Carnegie has licensed and developed technology from Carnegie Mellon University to help students learn English more quickly and effectively.  Called the NativeAccent, the system employs speech recognition technology to help students speak with the correct accent.
