Akermin Accesses $5 Million For Development

ST. LOUIS, MO -- Fuel cell company Akermin, Inc. announced that it has received $5 million in new investment from a syndicate of venture capital firms and a local angel group.

Akermin is developing portable fuel cell technology based on enzyme biofuels.  The company believes its stabilized enzyme technology is a breakthrough that offers increased performance and lower costs.

Investors in the round were Prolog Ventures, Chrysalix Energy, OnPoint Technologies and the St. Louis Arch Angels.  Proceeds will be used for continued product development.
