BILLERICA, MA -- Medical device maker HydroCision, Inc. announced the launch and U.S. commercial availability of its medical device designed to enter tight spinal disc spaces during surgical procedures.

Called the SpineJet XL oval tip fluidjet, the instrument optimizes spinal disc preparation for fusion procedures.  The company says the SpineJet combines a number of features into one instrument when trying to remove large amounts of disc material prior to fusion.

The device also reduces the number of passes in and out of the intervertebral space by up to 65%, increasing the safety of the procedure.
