23andMe Launches Personal Genetics Service

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- Information technology company 23andMe, Inc. has launched its first personal genetics service today.

The company's Personal Genome Service is intended to help individuals understand their individual genomic structure, ancestry and inherited traits.

After DNA analysis, the individual user will be able to utilize web-based interactive tools to more fully understand their genetic makeup.

23andMe is funded by Genentech, Google and New Enterprise Associates.
