SolarEdge Sees First Financing Round

HERZLIYA, ISRAEL -- Alternative energy company SolarEdge has received $11.8 million in its first round of venture capital financing, according to a report in VentureWire.

SolarEdge is developing a unique power harnessing technology for use with photovoltaic systems capturing the sun's rays for energy creation purposes.

Investors in the round were Opus Capital, Genesis Partners and Walden International, all of whom co-led the round.  Proceeds purposes were not disclosed by the company.
