Volcano Corp Acquires CardioSpectra For Cash

SAN ANTONIO, TX -- Medical device company Volcano Corporation announced a definitive agreement to acquire CardioSpectra, Inc. (no known website) for $25 million in an all cash transaction.

CardioSpectra is developing an optical coherence tomography diagnostic catheter that allows doctors to better predict the likelihood that a patient will suffer a heart attach based on vascular plaque.

Under the terms of the agreement, Volcano may also make additional payments based on the achievement of certain product development, regulatory and revenue milestones.
