SoftLayer Launches Seattle Datacenter Location

DALLAS, TX -- Hosting provider SoftLayer announced the launch of a new server datacenter to be located in the Seattle, WA area and initially equipped with 1000 servers.

SoftLayer already has its flagship datacenter in the Infomart, a major telecommunications hub in Dallas, TX.

The company also announced that customers will be able to select the geographical location of their servers in real time, which is claims is the first in the industry.  SoftLayer has a private 10 Gigabit connection between the two centers, which facilitates this capability.
