CHICAGO, IL -- Grid.org launched its grid and cluster open source website in November, and recorded more than 900 downloads of its software in the 30 days since.

Designed to provide the open source community with grid and cluster computing software for managing numerous computers, the site also registered 481 new members.

Grid.org's first application is Cluster Express, currently in beta stage.  The group also plans to support code-sharing, allowing developers to contribute to the software and share enhancements and applications.
