Acquia Secures $7 Million For Drupal Apps

NORTH ANDOVER, MA -- Open source software company Acquia said that it has raised $7 million in series A financing from a syndicate of venture capital firms.

Acquia intends to build on its founder's authoring of the Drupal open source code. It hopes to provide value-added services for this new type of web collaboration and publishing platform.

Investors were led by North Bridge Venture Partners, and included O'Reilly AlphaTech Ventures and Sigma Partners.
