Holochip Raises Funds To Expand Development

ALBUQUERQUE, NM -- Photonics technology company Holochip Corporation said that it has secures $2.7 million from existing venture capital investors.

Holochip is developing special use variable-focus polymer lenses that allow the focal length to be adjusted without moving the lens.  There are numerous potential applications, an obvious one being in small mobile devices, such as cell phones.

Los Angeles-based ITU Ventures led the round.  The company said it will use the proceeds to fund further technical development and marketing expansion opportunities.
