Blackwave Receives Series B Venture Investment

ACTON, MA -- Software company Blackwave, formerly known as Acinion, announced that it has raised $16 million in new venture capital investment.

Blackwave provides media enterprises and service providers cost-effective systems for storing and delivering Internet video.  The company's proprietary software and algorithms shift resources according to demand to reduce latency and delay.

Investors in the round included lead investor Sigma Partners, Globespan Capital Partners and IDG Ventures Boston.
