Texas Readies $300 Million Cancer Research Funding

DALLAS, TX -- Texas Governor Rick Perry signed a house bill authorizing the creation of the Cancer Prevention And Research Institute of Taxes and dedicates $300 million per year to find cures for cancer.
The bill will provide for research facilities, universities and other interested parties to support cancer research.
If the bond is approved by voters in November, the first grants will likely be inssued in 2010 and will continue to provide funding yearly through 2020.
