PGP Secures $27 Million Third Round Financing

PALO ALTO, CA -- Software security company PGP Corporation announced that it has closed its series C round, receiving $27.3 million in new investment.

PGP provides email and data encryption software solutions for enterprise data protection.  The company states that over 80,000 enterprises and governments worldwide use PGP products.

Investors in the round included Intel Capital and the D.E. Shaw Group as well as existing investors DCM and Venrock Associates.  The company intends to use the funding proceeds to fund channel expansion and accelerate technology development.
