SiRF Technology To Acquire Centrality Communications

SAN JOSE, CA  --  SiRF Technology Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: SIRF) announced an agreement to acquire Centrality Communications, Inc. for $283 million in stock and cash.

Centrality has developed a range of system on a chip (SoC) products that bring high throughput navigation and multimedia experience to consumers in mobile environments.  The company has also developed expertise in location-specific applications. 

These capabilities will be added to SiRF's portfolio.  SiRF also intends to make use of Centrality's Shanghai development center.
