Metacafe Raises $30 Million Series C Funding

PALO ALTO, CA -- Online video company Metacafe announced that it has secured $30 million in third round venture capital financing from a syndicate of investors.

Metacafe operates a web site that enables users to upload and view online videos.  Its VideoRank technology helps the most viewed videos to be ranked and showcased.  The company says it has more than 25 million unique viewers per month.

Investors were led by Highland Capital Partners and DAG Ventures, and included previous investors Accel Partners and Benchmark Capital.  Funding proceeds will be used for expansion and partnership development with established media companies.
