Group Launches Disability Equipment Exchange

EAST LANSING, MI -- The Michigan Disability Rights Coalition (MDRC) has launched a new web site aimed at helping people with disabilities buy, sell and trade tools and equipment with each other.

Located at, the site focuses on the exchange of assistive technology - which it defines as "any equipment that improves life for people with disabilities such as walkers, power scooters, braille machines and software that reads computer screens out loud.  The site does not allow vendors to advertise or list new items.

The MDRC is a nonprofit network of organizations and individuals throughout Michigan.
