CALABASAS, CA -- WiFi technology company Strix Systems said that its WiFi system appears to be well-suited for railroad industry uses.

The company says that a study by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will recommend the Strix Access/One system for future deployments alongside railroad tracks.

WiFi nodes would be installed on poles alongside the track system.  The benefit to railroad operators is the ability to see trains in real time, monitor access to tracks for security purposes and improve the operational effectiveness of its track management processes.
