Canesta Clears $10 Million Series D Financing

SUNNYVALE, CA -- Semiconductor company Canesta has closed its series D financing round, securing $10 million in additional expansion funding.  Earlier in the year the company accepted an investment from Honda Motors.

Canesta has developed what it calls "electronic perception technology", which enables machines and electronic devices to "see" by tracking nearby objects in three dimensions in real time.

Investors in the round included Apax Partners, The Carlyle Group and Venrock Associates.  Funding proceeds purposes were not disclosed.
