Intel Acquires Havok Software Development

SANTA CLARA, CA -- Chipmaker giant Intel Corp.  announced a definitive agreement to acquire software tools maker Havok Inc.

Havok provides interactive software and services to digital media creators in the game and movie industries.  The company's suite of software tools is used by developers to build video games across multiple hardware platforms and digitally animated movies.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.  Intel said that upon transaction close Havok will continue to operate as before.
