Ceres Raises $75 Million For Energy Crops

THOUSAND OAKS, CA -- Biofuels company Ceres, Inc. announced the close of its sixth round of venture capital financing, receiving $75 million.

Ceres is developing a variety of high-yield energy crops and biomass products that can potentially provide more efficient fuel sources.

Warburg Pincus led the round, which included other undisclosed investors.  The company plans to use the proceeds to continue development, capital expenditures and general corporate purposes.
