Aperio Adds CAD Technology Patent To Portfolio

VISTA, CA  --  Digital imaging company Aperio said that it has been awarded a U.S. patent covering systems and methods for image pattern recognition using vector quantization.

Aperio provides systems and services to digitize pathology for the healthcare and life sciences industry.  The company believes that computer aided detection of tissue biopsies, which tabulate results based on statistical comparisons to imagery data, will be of greater use to physicians and researchers than current manual identification of significant regions in a biopsy sample.
