Airbiquity Secures $25 Million For Global Expansion

SEATTLE, WA -- Wireless company Airbiquity, Inc. announced that it has closed a new round of venture capital and strategic investment funding.

Airbiquity provides data transport solutions to the Telematics and M2M markets.  Their technology uses existing cellular networks to send data over the voice channel.

Investors in the round included new lead investor Ignition Partners, previous investor Acorn Ventures, Kirnaf LTD and Shell Internet Ventures.

The company said it would use the proceeds to enter into the personal navigation device market and bolster its automotive-based managed data service.
