NEW YORK, NY -- Search company Hakia.com announced that it has received $5 million in additional funding from its existing investors, increasing its total funding to-date to $21 million.

Hakia is developing a "semantic" search engine, which allows users to enter search queries in plain language instead of keywords or short phrases.

Prokom Investments S.A. led the round, which included a number of international and individual investors.  The company said it would use the proceeds to build its semantic advertising platform and a European datacenter.
