ClearCount Medical Clears Series A Venture Capital

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania  --  Medical device company ClearCount Medical Solutions announced that it has raised $4.1 million in its first round of institutional venture capital financing.

ClearCount Medical provides a surgical sponge management system that assists surgeons in counting and reconciling sponges used during an operation, combined with a sponge detection capability.

Draper Triangle Ventures led the round, which included other undisclosed investors. The company said it will use the funding to accelerate its sales and marketing efforts.
