Cupertino, California  --  Semiconductor company Sequans announced that its chips are inside a new desktop modem/router compatible with the Sprint mobile WiMAX network.

The chips are inside the MAX-206m2 router manufactured by ZyXEL that gives Xohm customers wireless Internet access with built-in residential gateway functions.

“Sequans has contributed much to the successful launch of XOHM said Bin Shen, Vice President, Broadband, at Sprint. “Not only have they provided advanced chip technology enabling state-of-the art consumer devices, but they have been at Sprint’s side for many months supporting the extensive interoperability testing, refining, and retesting that has helped to bring about the historic launch of Mobile WiMAX service in the US.”
