Helicos Launches Bioinformatics Data Site

Cambridge, Massachusetts  --  Helicos Biosciences Corporation (NASDAQ: HLCS) announced the launch of a new open access website designed to allow users to access and share the company's data sets and bioinformatics software tools.

The open-source site features "single molecule sequence reads from whole genome resequencing and digital gene expression runs using the Helicos Genetic Analysis System."

“These data constitute the first demonstration of whole genome sequencing at the single molecule level, and highlight the unique benefits of scalability, even coverage and high accuracy afforded by Helicos True Single Molecule Sequencing (tSMS)™ technology,” explained Helicos Chief Executive Officer Steve Lombardi.
