PublicEarth Raises $3 Million Venture Capital

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- Database company PublicEarth has received its first round of venture capital, raising $3 million according to a report in PE Hub.

PublicEarth is still in stealth mode, but appears to be developing a database of location-specific content with an environmental component.

Polaris Venture Partners invested in the round.  The company did not disclose funding proceeds purposes.  Robert Geiman of Polaris has assumed a Board of Directors seat.
