Infinia Corporation Collects $50 Million Funding

KENNEWICK, WA -- Solar power company Infinia Corporation announced that it has raised $50 million in a second round of venture capital funding.

Infinia is developing a solar powered Sterling engine-based system that generates energy from the sun via a dish-style solar concentrator.

Investors in the round were led by GLG Partners, and included Wexford Capital, Vulcan Capital, Khosla Ventures, EQUUS Total Return, Idealab and Power Play Energy, LLC. 

The company said it plans to use the funding proceeds to launch the commercial version of its product.
