Accumetrics Accepts Series D Funding Of $29 Million

SAN DIEGO, CA -- Medical device company Accumetrics, Inc. has raised $28.8 million in its fourth round of venture capital financing.

Accumetrics markets its VerifyNow System, which helps clinicians and researchers assess platelet function.  Problem platelets are involved in cardiovascular, cerebrovascular and peripheral vascular disease.

Investors in the round were led by Arnerich Messina & Associates, and included BBT Fund, Essex Woodlands Health Ventures, Rivervest Venture Partners, PTV Sciences, KB Partners and Kaiser Permanente Ventures.
