VKernel Raises Funding For Sales Expansion

PORTSMOUTH, NH -- Virtualization software company VKernel said that it has secured an expansion round of funding, raising $4.6 million.

VKernel is a certified VMware partner, and has developed a group of virtual appliances help enterprises manage their virtual IT environments.

Hummer Winblad Venture Partners and Polaris Venture Partners co-led the financing.  The company said it would use the funds to expand its sales and marketing efforts as well as continue product development.
