ProEthic Pharmaceuticals Launches Acute Pain Treatment

MONTGOMERY, AL -- ProEthic Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced the launch of its prescription fixed combination for the short term management of acute pain, usually less than 10 days.

Marketed under the name Ibudone, the prescription is combination of 10 mg of hydrocodone and 200 mg of ibuprofen in each tablet.  It is also available with 5 mg of hydrocodone.

The company says the combination avoids the risk of acetaminophen liver toxicity, which is a leading cause of acute liver failure in the U.S.
