Oorja Protonics Announces Methanol Fuel Cells

FREMONT, CA -- Stealth-company Oorja Protonics finally announced its new technology offering, a methanol-based fuel cell system.

The system is claimed to reduce  the barriers associated with hydrogen-based fuel cells, such as the high price of compressed gas, lack of infrastructure and volatility as a fuel source.

Oorja is aiming its initial foray at the industrial market, hoping to power material handling vehicles such as pallet loaders, tuggers and automated guided vehicles.
