UTICA, NY -- Polling company Zogby International announced the results of a nationwide poll of how consumers use traditional versus online media.

The survey documented the continuing shift away from newspapers and television to the Internet as sources for information.  48% of respondents said their primary source of information and news is from the Internet, up from 40% a year ago.

Additionally, 67% of Americans polled said they think that traditional news providers are out of touch with what they want from news.  38% of 65+ year olds still use the television as their primary source of news, but all other age groups favor the Internet as their favored medium.
