ScaleMP Closes $8 Million Venture Capital Round

CUPERTINO, CA -- Software company ScaleMP, Inc. said that it has raised $8 million in new venture capital investment.

The company has developed what it calls a "versatile SMP (vSMP) architecture" that allows server vendors to create high-end x86-based multiprocessor systems.

Investors in the round were Sequoia Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, TL Ventures and ABS Capital Partners.  The company launched its technology concurrently with the financing press release.
