Aldagen Secures $18 Million For Development

DURHAM, NC -- Biotechnology company Aldagen Inc. announced that it has received $18.4 million in new investment from a syndicate of venture capital firms.

Aldagen is a clinical stage regenerative medicine company developing treatments for vascular and degenerative diseases via adult stem and progenitor cell technologies.

Investors in the round included Intersouth Partners, Tullis-Dickerson & Co., Inc., Harbert Venture Partners and The Aurora Funds.

Aldagen said it would the proceeds to further advance the development pipeline for its four clinical-stage candidates.
